Gin Acqueverdi is characterized by a strong minerality conferred by the use of water from the "Acqueverdi" spring (known for its incredible turquoise color) and by the particular notes given by the typical botanicals of the Alps and Val d'Aosta. Slightly straw-coloured, the very aromatic gin gives off hints of juniper and alpine herbs, while on the palate it is dry and full, with a good balance between the resinous and floral notes of the herbs. Many of the botanicals, such as alpine rose, mallow, mountain pine, pine buds and genepy grow spontaneously in the valley where the Acqueverdi stream descends. Juniper always comes from the Aosta Valley, where it is widespread, and both the berries and the twigs are used for the traditional juniper liqueur. The producers have drawn on this tradition to define the basis of Gin Acqueverdi, with juniper berries and sprigs infused together in water and alcohol and then distilled.
