170 years of distillation, at the foot of the hill, at the top of quality
Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family distillery business has been handed down from father to son until today through no less than six generations.
Every year, in fact, the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla brings together the best pomace from the Monferrato region to produce an equal number of single-varietal grappas.
Obtained from the freshest pomace and distilled with steam stills, after careful and scrupulous discarding of heads and tails, the grappas are stored for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond and French oak barriques;
until they reach complete harmony of taste and aroma, keeping the floral and fruity notes intact.
They are the result of a production process handed down with passion and wisdom to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti together with his wife Laura and sons Fabrizio and Alessandro.
