Bitter herb liqueur made in Abruzzo by recovering an ancient recipe from the Gran Sasso area. Produced only with traditional methods in order not to lose the original flavor. Herbal but soft on the palate, with a strong hint of gentian . A novelty to try.
Bitter liqueur with Abruzzo herbs made by the Spinelli family of Atessa recovering an ancient recipe of the territory dating back to the nineteenth century. The main botanicals used are hyssop , anise , gentian , mountain sature and mint . The tinctures, partly obtained from the maceration of botanicals in very fine alcohol, partly by distillation, are mixed to obtain a concentrate of absolute genuineness and naturalness. The processing systems are completely traditional to maintain the genuine flavor of the original recipe. The word " Blockhaus" above all evokes a story of brigands . To fight them, immediately after the unification of Italy , the Piedmontese army built a "blockhouse" on one of the peaks of the Maiella in 1863. Today Blockhaus has become the name of one of the peaks of the sacred mountain of Abruzzo, the Maiella, on whose vast slopes reigns a flora of an incomparable variety and richness in Italy. Dark amber color. The nose has a strong but not violent herbaceous aroma. On the palate it is persuasive but complex, with a surprising balsamic note. Bitter and very clean finish.
