Called for decades "the farmer's dish": after a day of hard work in the fields, when you returned home after sunset, a dish was prepared that was quick and good at the same time, in which the tomato sauce was cooked together with the peppers , and was accompanied with some bread. We have reproduced this tradition, enclosing this little culinary habit in a jar. During cooking, an egg is often added, cooked directly in the sauce, and this recipe is known today as "egg in purgatory".
