The Cragganmore 12 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey is made on the property of Ballindalloch Castle in the heart of Speyside, where the Cragganmore distillery opened its doors in 1869 by John Smith, considered by his fellow countrymen "The genius of whisky" for the skill and creative spirit that accompanied him throughout his life. After having managed three of the most important Scottish malt distilleries, he wanted to create his own personal distillery taking advantage of of the water from Craggan Mor hill flowing over a granite bed. Today two stills operate for the first distillation and two for the second, the latter able to prevent the alcoholic vapor from flowing and exiting quickly. The characteristics of the Cragganmore 12 year Single Malt are highly appreciated by a large number of particularly attentive and demanding consumers who recognize in this whiskey complex and very high quality aromatic notes that are slowly discovered during tasting, thus extending the pleasure of drinking. The color is gold with amber reflections. The aromatic profile is rich in facets: wet straw, spring forest flowers, citrus fruits, plum, apricot, butter, vanilla, trifle, walnuts and hazelnuts, white pepper. In the mouth it starts dry and then becomes sweet, with slightly peaty and woody notes, nutmeg and fruit. The aftertaste is persistent with notes of smoke and dates.
