Lagavulin matured twice in ex-bodega Pedro Ximenez cask wood for an intense, raisin sweetness that marries beautifully with the smoky power of the regular release to create a powerful, powerful malt flavour.
Being the most powerful single malt on the island of Islay, with the annual limited edition we wanted to use Pedro Ximenez ex-sherry European oak barrels for the final refinement, thus giving life to a double maturation creating a high profile whiskey with peaty, medicinal, coffee and vanilla hints with fruity hints with an incredible final persistence. Produced in a few bottles intended for lovers of the genre.
