From our 2,000 centuries-old olive trees, spread over an area of 11 hectares, we manually collect the olives which we press in our company oil mill. This is how our award-winning Purosangue/Madrechiesa extra virgin olive oil was born, constantly recognized by the main national guides as one of the best oils in Italy.

The oil is produced with Moraiolo and Maurino varieties, harvested and pressed separately in the oil mill of the property, through an original and innovative continuous cycle pressing system, consisting of sequential knife pressing organs, instead of hammers: this allows for selective extraction and a more delicate pressing, which preserves the aromas and nutritional properties, in particular squalene (SQ), a molecule with antioxidant and anticancer properties. The Terenzi company led by the three young Balbino brothers, Federico and Francesca Romana, has 150 hectares divided between vines and secular olive trees and is dedicated to the production of oil and wine paying particular attention to quality and the territory, thanks to the autonomy energy obtained through photovoltaics and the practice of agriculture with low environmental impact. “We are honored - declare the Terenzis - to have received this prestigious recognition from Gambero Rosso, which encourages us to continue with great enthusiasm in our project made of work, sacrifice and love for our land: we firmly believe that making a wine and an oil quality is our main duty. We are also happy that the recognition has been assigned to Madrechiesa, which also identifies our flagship wine, considered the maximum expression of Sangiovese di Maremma". On the nose you can recognize musk, wild garlic and laurel: an intense and elegant aroma, with notes of artichoke leaf and cut grass. The hints of tomato and Mediterranean herbs are evident in the finish. Strong flavor balanced in the bitter and spicy notes both at medium intensity levels. In addition to the Madrechiesa, Terenzi produces the Purosangue, a blend of Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino, with a pleasant aroma with notes of artichoke, rosemary and wild herbs and an evident walnut kernel on the finish. Round and well-balanced taste in bitter and spicy notes. Purosangue oil has been reported in the international guide Flos Olei 2018, dedicated to selected extra virgin olive oils produced by companies from all over the world.
