Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Riserva 2015 Magnum - Masciarelli

Austere and majestic, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Villa Gemma provides an original and never predictable interpretation of the great Abruzzese native, who helped to make it right on the map of world viticulture. The result of continuous research and experimentation, in the vineyard as in the cellar, as well as a long study of viticulture techniques and the Abruzzo region, Villa Gemma is born from 100% Montepulciano grapes rigorously harvested by hand in boxes starting from the second half of October in the Cru di Cave in San Martino sulla Marruccina. The 5 hectares of vineyards are organized in dense Guyot-trained rows of about 30 years of life; the very high plant density allows to obtain a limited production, of great concentration and quality. Today it is Miriam Lee Masciarelli , daughter of Gianni, who follows the vinification and aging with passion and competence. After fermentation in steel, Villa Gemma ages in French oak barrels: powerful and elegant, it reveals great expressive power and extraordinary aging capacity, with full and explosive aromas that evolve in a surprising way over the years.
