The gems are called by the winemakers the "eyes of the vine". Just as vine gems are precious for winemakers, so are Spiritus Terrae – LE GEMME wines for Cantina Orsogna 1964. Each Spiritus Terrae – LE GEMME wine is unique and unrepeatable, the expression of an irreproducible combination of factors (vine variety, climate, soil) in a given year. These wines are born from the separate vinification of the grapes of the most suitable vineyards of Cantina Orsogna 1964 and of these only the best vinifications become Spiritus Terrae – LE GEMME.

ABOUT THE VINE The valley that gave birth to the vine is the Peligna one, with written evidence as early as the mid-1700s, while news of its production and marketing have been found in the Pescara valley since 1821. Since the last post-war period, its cultivation has extended to the entire coastal hilly area and today it is the main grape variety of the Abruzzo region. It is a plant capable of growing both on inland mountainous areas and on the hills, up to the coastal areas. Flag of the territory with a strong qualitative imprint, it offers a soft creaminess of wines from warm areas and the generous elegance of those from the highlands.
