The grapes come from the highest and most noble part of the Rancia area, located in the Municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. In the most recent plants, the material of the mass selections carried out within the old vineyard of Rancia was used. The vineyard has limestone soils, mainly characterized by alberese (typical of the Chiantigiano territory), and galestro. First vintage 1983.
