The first line created by the Pasetti company, a classic among its pure Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Elegant red and strongly representative of its production area in Pescosansonesco (PE), in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.
PRODUCTION AREA: The vineyards extend in the Municipality of Pescosansonesco at 550 m slm within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. The soil is characterized by a clayey-limestone matrix, rich in organic matter, sloping, facing north-east. The summer climate is dry and well ventilated. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VARIETY: Montepulciano is an autochthonous variety from Abruzzo: it prefers clayey soils, tolerates drought well and ripens late. The concentration of anthocyanins is among the highest in the world. Rich in tannins, it can be astringent especially if drunk young. The notes of red fruits surprise with their intensity. WINE VINEYARD 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, density of 5200 vines/ha, yield of 100 quintals/ha, mechanical harvesting around mid-October. VINIFICATION In red: maceration and fermentation in steel for 8 - 10 days with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 22 - 24 °C. Spontaneous MLF. AGING In concrete tanks, passage in large oak barrels of 20hl and 60hl and subsequent aging in the bottle. To be kept at 14 - 16 °C and preferably consumed within 8 years of the harvest. SENSORY ANALYSIS Intense ruby red colour. Hints of black cherry, currant and blackberry, accompanied by nuances of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper. In the mouth it is very soft, with elegant and ripe tannins. Excellent structure and long persistence
