A symbolic wine of a territory, of a region and perhaps of an entire country, the "vintage" Brunello di Montalcino produced at Greppo continues, year after year, harvest after harvest, to represent an icon of winemaking tradition and perfection stylistic.
Brunello Riserva "Il Greppo" is an authentic emblem of Montalcino, a wine that has made the history of the denomination by virtue of its austerity, class and ability to establish a dialectical relationship over time. Few names become part of the legend of a place like that of the Biondi Santi family, who more than two centuries ago began making Sangiovese wine in one of the most suitable areas for its production. Passion and an obsessive knowledge of vines and soils, as well as a rare sensitivity, allowed Ferruccio Biondi Santi, with the arrival of phylloxera in the mid-19th century, to select a Sangiovese clone that gave life to almost immortal liquids. And then in succession Tancredi and Franco, faces and people who contributed to defining the specifications of a wine which today is synonymous with prestige and in many cases with excellence. The winery continues to follow traditional winemaking practices, to preserve the typicality which has always been a fundamental dictate.
