The Tiernu Campidano di Terralba DOC Bovale wine of the Cantina Sociale di Mogoro Il Nuraghe owes its name to its discreet softness: tiernu in Sardinian means "tender". The bovale grosso is a very ancient autochthonous vine, widespread above all in the Campidano area of Terralba, capable of giving coloured, intense and well-structured wines: the Tiernu vineyards are located precisely in the Terralba area, trained using the sapling and espalier system on sandy soils and rich in clay.
Its ruby red robe, characterized by still purple, dark and impenetrable reflections, anticipates intense aromas of ripe red berry fruit, such as cherries, and dried fruit, floral nuances and Mediterranean herbs. In the mouth it is soft and warm, delicately fresh and tannic, intense and persistent. It goes perfectly with well-structured cheeses, such as semi-seasoned Pecorino di Sardegna DOP or Montiferru provole, called “casizzolu“, and medium-structured main courses, such as rabbit cacciatore.
