PRODUCTION AREA Located in the heart of the Municipality of Barbaresco, in the Martinenga valley, the two vineyards face south-south / west. The Barbera has an average altitude of about 225m asl, while the Cabernet of 240m asl
VARIETY Barbera 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%
VINIFICATION Red vinification with twenty days of maceration on the skins and complete malolactic fermentation followed by the alcoholic one. The two varieties are processed separately until pre-bottling assembly.
COLOR Very intense ruby red, with just a hint of purplish rim.
BOUQUET Intense and persistent, with hints of ripe fruit, notes of chalk, rose, pepper and chocolate.
PAIRINGS The structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the acidity of Barbera make this wine ideal not only with red meats and medium-aged cheeses, but also with first courses, meat sauces and vegetables.
TASTE Full, delicate and harmonious, it takes up the olfactory sensations and enhances them. On the finish pleasant notes of macerated fruit and minerality return, giving a long persistence to the wine.
NOTES The most international of the Marchesi di Gresy wines is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera. From the refinement in small French oak barrels derives this wine of great breed, with a deep ruby red color, which offers ample complex and persistent olfactory sensations, with notes of ripe small fruits and chalk. Great freshness and richness on the palate, harmonious and long aftertaste. It can be successfully combined with all dishes.
AGING In French oak barriques for twenty-eight months and subsequent refinement in the bottle before release.
