Cerasuolo is the traditional house wine of the Abruzzo people; the everyday wine obtained from Montepulciano grapes fermented with the skins for a short time in order to extract little color and few tannins; it is the wine that in the common diction is called "red" that is "red cerasuolo" or color of the "cerasa - cherry".
Wine: Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC Year: 2021 Grapes: Montepulciano 100% Notes: Cerasuolo is the traditional wine of the houses of Abruzzo; the everyday wine obtained from Montepulciano grapes fermented with the skins for a short time in order to extract little color and few tannins; it is the wine that in the common diction is called "red" that is "red cerasuolo" or color of the "cerasa - cherry". Today we obtain it from the draining of the mass that is pressed to obtain the classic Montepulciano, after about 48 hours of maceration by tapping a part of the juice that is naturally formed without any pressing action; ultimately it is the flower must. It is the noblest part of the grape! Characteristics: Not rosé but cherry red wine, with hints of cherry and rose, with a thousand combinations. Pairings: Salami appetizers, spaghetti alla chitarra, white meats, pizza, ... Serving temperature: 7/12° depending on the various dishes Alcohol content: 14.5 Total sulfur dioxide: 60 mg/l
