Risesling Valle Isarco Alto Adige DOC 2022 - Pacherhof

The Riesling of the South Tyrolean Pacherhof winery is a splendid expression of the Valle Isarco area. The northernmost wine region of Italy, for some years it has established itself among the most interesting areas for the production of white wines with international vines from northern Europe. The Riesling, in particular, has adapted very well to the rocky terrain, to the cold climate and to the strong temperature variations of the altitude, giving wines that perfectly reflect the alpine habitat. Fresh, aromatically delicate and elegant, it is a mountain white, intense and mineral, which goes very well with shellfish, seafood, delicately spiced dishes of Asian cuisine and delicate white meats.Riesling wine was born on the Maso Pacher estate, a historic property in the area that dates back to the 12th century. The Huber family has been cultivating these lands for many generations and today the management of the vineyards and the cellar is in the hands of Andreas, a talented winemaker, who produces excellent, purely territorial wines. The Riesling vineyards are located in the splendid area of Novacella, on sunny and steep slopes overlooking the Bressanone basin, at an altitude of about 650 meters above sea level. The soils of ancient morainic origin are made up of stony lands, rich in mica schists and gneiss, particularly suitable for Riesling. At the end of the manual harvest, the grapes are softly pressed and slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures. The wine ages on the lees for about 8 months in large 20-hectolitre oak barrels, before being bottled for marketing.The white Riesling is one of the most representative labels of the Pacherhof winery. Magnificent interpreter of the Valle Isarco terroir, it is a wine of great finesse and personality, all played on the delicate facets of the noble northern vine. In the glass it has a straw yellow color with youthful greenish reflections. Refined and elegant, it expresses a bouquet characterized by aromas of acacia flowers, clear notes of lime peel, fragrant aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, green apple and Williams pear.
