Pope Francis also drinks Torrevecchia wine: Montepulciano d`Abruzzo on his Holiness's table For the 50 years of activity of the Sincarpa winery, one of the bottles of wine has arrived in the Vatican
Pope Francis also drinks the wine of Torrevecchia Teatina: on the occasion of the 50 years of activity of the social winery on the Teatine hills, one of the bottles of wine produced by the " Sincarpa " arrived on the table of his Holiness, with the promise to reach him on a pilgrimage not as soon as the Covid emergency will be over. The idea of sending the pontiff, through one of his closest collaborators, a bottle of Montepulciano "Gazzaladra", the leading label with which Theatine wine is marketed, came from the president of the Cantina Sociale Sincarpa , Pino Candeloro: " The responsibility of having to tell the Holy Father with this bottle what our reality achieves thanks to the work of our members made me feel small to the point of thinking that I could not manage to bear the weight of what we were giving him. there is only excellent wine, but there is work, what we do day after day, and which, with so many sacrifices, we strive to carry on. There was a piece of each of us, a piece of ours hearts! ". And Pope Francis welcomed the gift from Abruzzo. In fact, his response signed by the Secretariat of State with a blessing was not long in coming.
