Type of wine: new red. Grapes: : 100% Montepulciano. Production areas: Vastesi hills. Soil characteristics: our soils have a characteristic medium texture, with a predominance of clay and limestone at times. The lands all have exposure to the South, South-East, and an altitude of around 200 m. slm The proximity to the sea means that the microclimate of our hills is the optimal one for the ripening of the grapes. Training system: Abruzzo pergola and GDC Density of vines/ha: average density 3500. Yield of hectoliters of wine per hectare: average 70. Harvest period: from mid-October. Vinification: the actual vinification is preceded by the practice of "carbonic maceration". This consists in the collection of bunches of grapes in small boxes, so that the grains do not break, then placing them in closed vats under a carbon dioxide atmosphere. After 10 days the bunches, still intact, are pressed and separated from the skins, subsequently activating the classic alcoholic fermentation until almost all of the sugars are transformed into alcohol. Fermentation: in stainless steel tanks. View: deep ruby red color with light violet reflections. Smell: fragrant, of ripe undergrowth fruit. Taste: soft, pleasant and velvety. Alcohol content: 12.5% Vol. Optimal serving temperature: 14/16°C. Pairings: Pleasant with chestnuts, cured meats and typical Abruzzo first courses.
