A cru of about 2 hectares, planted in 2001 with very fine Burgundian clones. On the opposite side of Pernice, at 400 m slm and facing south/south-west.
Area of origin Rocca de' Giorgi (PV) Soil Calcareous clayey with good presence of sand and silt Serving temperature 15/18°C Tasting notes Colour: deep ruby red with typical garnet reflections. Aroma: Complex, ample bouquet with aromas of roses and small red fruits, cocoa and balsamic hints. Taste: elegant on the palate, seductive in its velvety and very fine tannins. Good acidity which guarantees a considerable length in the mouth and a good aging in the cellar. Technical notes Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in wooden truncated cone vats, mololactic fermentation in barriques in spring Aging: One year in carefully selected French barriques of different origins. Subsequent refinement in the bottle for at least one year. Pairings First courses with meat sauce, fresh pasta stuffed with meat, rare roasts and fresh goat cheeses.
