The Grigio Gran Selezione, 80% Sangiovese enriched with ancient indigenous varieties such as Abrusco, Pugnitello, Black Malvasia, Ciliegiolo and Mazzese, is born only from our most suitable soils, which contribute to the complexity of the wine, keeping intact the elegance and expression of the terroir of San Felice .
VINTAGE CHARACTERISTICS The winter was quite mild and rainy. The first days of April, very hot, caused an early germination of at least 10 days after a regular May, the summer months were very hot, with temperatures above the seasonal average, interspersed with rains that helped to maintain an excellent vegetative balance avoiding water stress. The ripening of the grapes was optimal as well as the average quality of the wines obtained.
VINEYARD LOCATION San Felice (Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena) Sangiovese from the I Colti, Pianaccio, Chiesamonti vineyards.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOIL Medium-textured and rich in texture. Prevalence of clays of calcareous-marl origin, coming from the disintegration of the Alberese and Galestro and resting on rocks.

VINIFICATION AND AGING Alcoholic fermentation in steel, with 22 days maceration at a temperature of 28-30 ° C. Each variety is vinified separately. Malolactic fermentation and aging in wood for 24 months. 50% barrels 60-100 hl in Slavonian oak and 50% in French oak barrels of 225 and 500 liters. Refinement in bottle for 8 months.
