CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANTS The vineyards are trained with the Abruzzo pergola system, and have 1,100 vines per hectare. The production per hectare is 55 q.li. . HARVEST AND VINIFICATION PERIOD After a rigorous selection, the grapes are generally harvested in the first ten days of October and left to dry on racks where they remain for about 2 months. After the drying period, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and left to vinify in stainless steel tanks. The maceration lasts 10-15 days. Once the malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is decanted into Slavonian oak barrels where it remains for a period of 30 months, after which it is bottled. Before being placed on the market, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further 24 months.
