FEATURES OF THE PLANTS The new plant was built using a counter-espalier system with approximately 5,200 vines per hectare, the old planting is trained in the Abruzzese pergola system with approximately 1,100 vines per hectare. TIME OF HARVEST AND VINIFICATION The grapes for the Lumen, after a careful and scrupulous selection, are among the last to be harvested (beginning of October for the Cabernet-sauvignon and mid-October for the Montepulciano). The grapes are destemmed, softly pressed and vinified separately in stainless steel vats and fermented at a temperature of 28-30°C for a period of approximately 15 days. After the malolactic fermentation, the wines obtained are blended and placed in 225 liter barriques of different oak varieties where they remain for about 18 months, after which they are bottled. Subsequently, the wine undergoes 24 months of bottle aging in our caves before being placed on the market.
