Gaiun is the part of the Martinenga vineyard that looks towards Asili, facing south-west; it is vinified on its own because it enjoys some differences both in the microclimate and in the soil that make it unique compared to the rest of the vineyard. The Barbaresco Gaiun Martinenga Marchesi di Gresy has an international winemaking style, with the search for concentration and an aging of almost 30 months in barrique, which smooths out the sharp edges of the Nebbiolo and gives us a delicious wine.

NOTES Martinenga: located in the heart of the municipality of Barbaresco, the vineyard extends for 25 hectares, of which 12 are located in a splendid natural amphitheater facing south. The microclimatic complexity and the particular conformation of the soil give the wines an unparalleled harmony and elegance, even in the most difficult years. Thanks to an extraordinarily multiform terroir and the sensitivity of Nebbiolo, the company has supported the natural diversity within the vineyard by identifying two further selections: Gaiun and Camp Gros, which from the opposite ends of the amphitheater give life to the highest expressions of Martinenga. The Gaiun vineyard is located west of the natural amphitheater overlooking the surrounding hills. Born in 1982 from a selection of the Martinenga vineyard towards the Asili area, it is produced only in the best vintages and its international taste, due to the refinement in small French wooden barrels, has ensured it, over the years, remarkable successes. Remarkable is the structure that always coexists with that class and elegance that only Martinenga can give.
AGING In French oak barriques for twenty-eight months and subsequent refinement in the bottle before release.
