The Barbera Langhe of Cascina Corte was obtained from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the Dogliani area, in the province of Cuneo. The vineyards of origin, exposed to the South and East, insist on soils characterized by limestone, blue tuff and clay, at an altitude of about 280 meters above sea level. The harvest was done by hand, with a yield of 70 quintals per hectare, in the third ten days of September. The vinification included a phase of alcoholic fermentation started with indigenous yeasts with manual pumping over. The refinement took place in large oak barrels and tonneaux for 18 months plus a short period in the bottle.BARBERA LANGHE CASCINA CORTE: THE TASTING Cascina Corte's Barbera Langhe has an intense ruby red color. On the nose it expresses aromas of black cherry, blackberry and small berries that intertwine with timid hints of red flowers and notes of black pepper, vanilla and oriental spices. The sip is rich and balanced, enhanced by smooth tannins and a clear freshness that persists in the long fruity finish. Excellent as a wine for the whole meal, at the table it goes well with cured meats and semi-aged cheeses as well as tasty land-based dishes of white or red meat.
