GUADO SAN LEO is the first wine of our company obtained solely from NERO DI TROIA grapes and has contributed together with other Apulian wines to the rebirth of this important vine. The grapes, coming from our "Coppanetta" estate, are harvested by hand in 15 kg boxes before being sent for vinification. with scrupulous selection.
Denomination: PUGLIA IGP ROSSO Grapes: Nero di Troia 100% Production area: “Coppanetta” estate – 50 mt. Slm , with north-west exposure. Characteristics of the vineyard: extension of 1.5 hectares. Planted in 1973 with a density of 1,800 plants/ha. "Apulian tent" training system Soil: calcareous-clayey. Yield per hectare: 60 quintals Vinification and ageing: After a maceration of about 15 days with frequent pumping over and delestages, the wine is aged in new Alliers oak barriques for at least 12 months. TASTING NOTES Colour: Deep ruby red Bouquet: Black currants, sour cherries and red figs Taste: Good balance with sustained tannins which give a high persistence with a finish of red cherry and spicy notes Food pairings: Red meats, stews and aged cheeses Serving temperature: 18°C
