Amarone wine is produced in Valpolicella, facing north of Verona in the suggestive hilly area of Veneto, it is the cradle of the renowned Amarone wine. This region extends from the Adige river to the Soave hills, east of Verona, and is also famous for the production of great red wines such as Recioto, Valpolicella, Valpolicella Classico and Valpolicella Ripasso. Thanks to its privileged geographical position, the mild climate and the morphology of the territory, it has for centuries been a land dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production of quality wines.
Organoleptic description: Deep dark ruby red that gradually turns towards garnet. Powerful and aristocratic nose made of ripe fruit, jam, sensations of cocoa, walnut husk, tobacco and leather. A powerful yet gentle and elegant full-bodied wine, very noble in roundness, complex and with an unmistakable flavor played on the balance between volume and softness, warmth and freshness, austerity and richness.Vinification: After careful selection, the harvested grapes are placed in crates and left to rest in well-ventilated and dry rooms, thus favoring an extraordinary concentration of sugars, extract, aromas and glycerine. After 3 months, the grapes are subjected to a very soft pressing. Due to the cold of the season, the must begins a long and slow fermentation and the maceration on the skins lasts for a month. The wine ages in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels for about 30 months. It is then left to age for at least eight months in the bottle before being put on the market.Vineyards: Owned, in a beautiful hilly position in the heart of the Valpolicella ClassicaGastronomic suggestions: It is suitable for important dishes of noble game, roasts and spicy, long-aged and hard cheeses. Served between meals, it is an extraordinary "meditation" wine. It is advisable to uncork the bottle at least an hour before pouring it and to offer it in large crystal glasses with a wide mouth, (balloon) to favor good oxygenation.
