GRAPES 60% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Petit Verdot 5% Syrah VINTAGE The 2020 vintage was characterized by a relatively mild winter with sudden drops in temperature. The hot and dry days spring favored rapid budding and availability water from the land allowed the vines to develop well over the months summer. The temperature variations in August brought the grapes to an excellent condition maturation, the rains at the end of the month and the consequent lowering temperatures have rebalanced the vines from a water point of view. There harvest began in the first days of September. WINEMAKING The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg boxes, with separate collection by variety and plot. A careful selection of grapes preceded destemming, which was followed by the maceration phase temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. At this stage it began the alcoholic fermentation, which lasted for about two weeks, followed by racking and malolactic fermentation. MATURATION After approximately 16 months of maturation in 35 - 50 hl oval barrels barriques, the individual batches were assembled and the wine was aged for a further 6 months in the bottle.
