Marzemino “Cornorotto” Maculan is a Venetian red with a slender profile, which can always be drunk with the right pleasure, without being “difficult” or not very engaging. This is thanks to the particular and varied aromas on the nose, which arouse attention during the olfactory analysis, and to the sip, which opens on the palate with a fresh and crunchy tone, of excellent drinkability. A bottle already interesting to uncork now, but which can continue its refinement in glass for the next two or three years, always presenting itself with the same linearity but with some more evolved olfactory scent. This "Cornorotto" Maculan is a pure Marzemino, a vine grown in the Cornorotto area, near the town of Fara Vicentino. We are located within a terroir with a hilly silhouette, characterized by a volcanic and tufaceous subsoil, typical of this portion of land. The clusters are harvested when the berries are slightly overripe, more or less when they have reached maturity for about a week. The must obtained from their pressing ferments in steel vats with frequent daily punching down. It then continues with a final refinement, in which the wine rests in steel for a semester, at the end of which it is ready to be bottled and put on the market. The Marzemino “Cornorotto” Maculan reveals itself to the eye with a color that recalls ruby, characterized by a particular brightness and brilliance. Fresh on the nose, which is enriched with touches of wild berries and references of aromatic herbs, flowers and spices. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with a sip with a nice freshness and a medium structure, in which the tannic texture is finely integrated. An excellent label in combination with those pasta dishes served with game sauces.
