From the fertile lands of Campomarino, in the province of Campobasso in Molise, Don Luigi Riserva Contado is born, an excellent red wine which has been recognized as Molise DOC. Produced in the 110 hectares of limestone soil belonging to the Di Majo Norante winery, it is made up of 90% of the best Montepulciano grapes and the remaining 10% of Aglianico, a black grape variety. The Di Majo family, in addition to recovering endangered vines, shows attention and maniacal care in the use of strictly mineral and organic fertilizers. The vinification and aging are carried out in an ancient cellar in order to enhance the organoleptic qualities of Don Luigi Riserva Contado. According to the dictates of tradition, the must is left to rest for a long period on the pomace and matured in small new oak barrels for about 12 months. The result is an intense wine, garnet red in color with violet reflections, rich, of great harmony with a perfect fusion of ripe fruit flavors that evoke undergrowth, plum, hints of toasted wood and vanilla. ready to drink today, it certainly has the potential to age and evolve for a few years.
