Maculan 's “Brentino” is a Venetian red with an intense profile and good structure. It is a classic Bordeaux blend made with a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The two French vines, present in the Venetian lands since the distant nineteenth century, have found in the magnificent hilly area of Breganze a perfect habitat to express themselves on interesting qualitative levels. The Maculan "Brentino" of the Venetian winery comes from the vineyards grown on the estate owned, which is located north of the city of Vicenza. A magnificent hilly area, which rises from Breganze towards the Asiago plateau. The area is protected to the north by the chain of the Alps and can enjoy beautiful sunny and breezy exposures. The soils of ancient volcanic origin are rich in tuff and mineral substances, perfect for the needs of the vine. Thanks to a particularly favorable environmental context and Fausto Maculan 's boundless passion for great wines, the estate has been able to make itself known as one of the most important excellences of the territory. The harvest takes place manually with selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. The grapes are then fermented in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins. Before being bottled, the wine ages for a period of 12 months, partly in steel tanks and partly in French oak barrels. The "Brentino" of the Maculan winery is a medium-bodied wine, which expresses the vocation of the land of Breganze to the cultivation of the most famous international vines. The softness of Merlot goes well with the elegance and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. The color is intense ruby red. The nose opens on aromas of cherry, small berries and delicately spicy, vanilla and woody hints. The sip is rich and enveloping, with a fine tannic texture and a balanced closure.
