GRAPES 50% Syrah 50% MerlotCLIMATE The 2022 vintage was characterized by a mild winter which gave way to drops in temperature between March and April. Spring was bright and dry, with only one significant rain in April and with typically summer maximum temperatures starting from the second half of May. Sunny summer without rainfall until mid-August where a first rain gave way to a succession of some disturbances which led to a rebalancing of the water resources of the land allowing the grapes to reach excellent maturity in a slow and progressive way, so much so that they could be catalogued. the 2022 harvest as one of the longest in recent years.WINEMAKING The two varieties are harvested by hand in small 15 kg boxes at different times in order to achieve the desired phenolic maturation according to the seasonal trend. The vinification is done in parcels, for the Merlot a soft pressing of the whole grapes is carried out while the Syrah is destemmed and subjected to skin maceration for approximately 6-8 hours in the press before pressing in order to emphasize the chromatic tone and crunchiness of the fruit. The musts ferment slowly in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for approximately 15-20 days.MATURATION the wine is aged for 4 months on its noble lees which will be suspended cyclically during the 4 months of refinement that precede the preparation of the final blend and bottling.
