We are located in Breganze, north of Vicenza and west of Bassano. Here for three generations the Maculan family has been selecting and making wine from the best grapes in the area. It all started in 1947 thanks to the commitment and will of Giovanni Maculan . The company then passed into the hands of Fausto Maculan who, with stubbornness and immense passion, brought it to its current reality. Since 2007, the daughters Angela and Maria Vittoria enthusiastically support their father in the cultivation of the 40ha company, divided between vines and olive groves. Valvolpara is the new born in the Maculan house. Wine produced from a mass reproduction of old Vespaiola vines, the 2019 vintage saw the light of less than 1000 bottles. The grapes, harvested by hand, are dried for about 10 days in the loft. Subsequently, cold macerate for 4 days. Fermentation and maturation take place in steel and last a total of about 6 months.

VINIFICATION Light over-ripening of the grapes for 10 days at a controlled temperature in the cellar, maceration at 5 degrees for 4 days, soft pressing. Fermentation in steel for 15 days
COLOR Straw yellow with green reflections
PERFUME Exotic ripe fruity aromas, but also ginger and glazed citrus fruits, apricot jam, beeswax and an almost powdery finish.
PAIRINGS Tasty fish, including the classic Vicenza-style cod. Excellent served fresh with risotto
TASTE Powerful sip in softness, almost fat that keeps the remarkable alcohol component at bay, the second taste also denotes freshness and flavor that flow hand in hand on the palate, almond and citrus closure.
NOTES Valvolpara was born from a recovery project of old vines of the Vespaiola variety, the same with which Torcolato is produced, reproduced by mass selection and grafted in 2009 in the vineyard in the Valvolpara area, in Branza, in Breganze. There are only 5000 vines in one hectare of extension, on predominantly clayey soils.
AGING Aging on the lees in steel tanks for 4 months.
