Cuvée Antica is a white characterized by floral and fruity aromas and characterized by fresh and savory notes. We recommend combining it with fish and shellfish dishes.
The white wine Cuvée Antica of the McCalin winery is obtained from a blend of local. The McCalin winery was founded in 2015 in the small Martinsicuro, in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo. Federico Nardi, the winemaker who passionately manages the company that was initially born as a hobby, immediately embraced the ideals and dictators of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The hills on which the vines grow reach a maximum height of 550 meters above sea level and rest their roots on a mainly clayey terroir, typical of the area. McCalin - name chosen in memory of the lineage to which Nardi's father belongs - extends over about 2 hectares of land where autochthonous and typical grapes of the area are grown such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Passerina and Malvasia. In the vineyard and in the cellar no chemical additives are used and almost all the processing procedures are carried out by hand, in full respect of nature and its fruits. Cuvée Antica is a white wine produced from a blend of local white berried grapes. After harvesting and manual de-stemming, the must macerates for a whole night on its skins and vinification takes place in steel. Finally, the wine always ages in steel for about nine months. This white wine has a straw yellow color with golden reflections in the glass. The bouquet, decidedly intense and fragrant, is composed of fruity and floral notes. Finally, when tasted, it is full-bodied, savory, fresh and decisive. Cuvée Antica is the perfect match for fish-based dinners: starting from appetizers and first courses up to fried food, it lightly accompanies a whole meal. Its fresh note also makes it an excellent choice for an aperitif.
