That is, as many would say that you should NOT write a wine technical sheet. But that's how I wrote it, straight off, drinking Albamarina side B, telling what is really important in wine: emotion. Have you tried Albamarina 2012 yet? Well done, it's a good wine, I'm sure you liked it. Now the "B side" comes out. Side B are 10 hectoliters of Catarratto passito 2012 that I had decided to throw away. As I always do when I do something new and my mom disagrees (basically ALL of the time), I said to her: Mom, what do you care? If it doesn't turn out good, we throw it away – or sell it in bulk. She is not very convinced, but after a few days of discussions she finally lets me do it (thanks mom). So: I left 15 hectoliters (yes, 15, then I'll explain) of passito in overfilled barrels, hoping for the fioretta to come, for another 18 months. INCREDIBLY, this wine, despite having been sulphited (and don't ask me how it's possible, because I don't know either) continued to ferment very slowly for another 18 months, until from the initial 13.5 it reached an alcohol content of 15% vol – a little more actually, but we don't tell anyone, okay? At some point it FINALLY came out good. But no normal good, just good. So: the B side. I took 10 hectoliters and bottled it (which is what you can now find on #vgm) and kept the other 5 in strictly full barrels to make a perpetual one. Which, when it's good, is the best thing in the world of wine. PERPETUAL IS WINE - if you don't believe it, call De Bartoli. But the perpetual, if it turns out good, we'll talk about it in 5/6 years. For the moment there is the B side.

Produced in small quantities, Nektar comes from Vermentino grapes grown on slopes sheltered by the mountains and near the sea. The bunches, selected and harvested by hand, and subsequently dried in airy environments, give a harmonious and elegant wine with an intense golden yellow color. A passito that represents our nectar, the name itself celebrates the Nektar: mythical drink of the gods, which Ganimende poured, and Hebe offered to the gods of Olympus.

Before the harvest, which usually takes place during the second ten days of September, the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard. Subsequently, a gentle pressing is carried out, to then move on to alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel for two weeks. The refinement takes place in barriques for 24 months and 12 months in the bottle. In the glass Novaj shows an intense ruby red color. Intense aromas of cherries and undergrowth fruits make this wine seduce the olfactory sense from the first moment. An intriguing wine, elegant and velvety on the palate. A red that conquers at the first sip and will give diners a sensation of persistent pleasure. At the table it is excellent in combination with dishes based on red meats, game, roasts and game.

Picolit is produced in a vineyard where the average age of the vines is around 30 years, made up of sandstone marls of Eocene origin. The harvest takes place in mid-October; subsequently the Picolit grapes are left to dry on racks for 40/50 days. This is followed by fermentation in Allier oak barrels. The wine rests on the fermentation lees for 15 months in small oak barrels and 3 months in the bottle before being put on the market. An amber yellow wine is presented to the glass. The bouquet is delicate and elegant with clear fruity hints of apricots and dried figs. The taste is sweet and harmonious and gives the palate a warm and persistent flavor for a long time. A bottle that, on the occasion of an invitation, is certainly always very welcome by the hosts. Picolit is a delicious wine that is well suited to daily consumption in the company of cheese platters and sideboard desserts, dry biscuits and dried fruit.

Discover the Delight of Sweet Wines: A Journey for Your Senses

Sweet wines can be a true delight for the senses. The way sweet wine touches your taste buds and nostrils with its rich aromas will make you feel like you're in heaven. The magic of sweet wines is unique and is becoming increasingly popular among consumers seeking a unique sensory experience. If you're looking to discover the beauty of sweet wines, then you've come to the right place. This article will explore some of the best sweet wines and how to choose the right one for you.

What is a Sweet Wine?

First, we need to clarify what a sweet wine is. A sweet wine is one that contains a certain amount of sugar. This sugar can be added during fermentation or later. The amount of sugar in sweet wine can range from slightly sweet to very sweet. Sweet wines are often sweeter than dry wines because they contain more sugar.

The Most Popular Sweet Wines

Sweet wines can be divided into three broad categories: dessert wines, sparkling wines, and aromatized wines. Dessert wines are sweeter and more aromatic, such as Port, Sherry, Muscat, and Madeira. Sparkling wines are carbonated wines such as Champagne, Moscato Frizzante, Prosecco , and Cava. Aromatized wines are fruit-forward, such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Grüner Veltliner.

How to Choose a Sweet Wine

If you're interested in trying a sweet wine, there are a few things to consider. First, you need to decide whether you want a dessert wine, a sparkling wine, or an aromatized wine. You'll also need to consider your budget and personal tastes. If you're a beginner, you might want to start with a less expensive and less sweet wine, like a Moscato or Riesling. If you're an expert, you might want to explore rarer and more expensive wines like a Port or Sherry.

How to Serve a Sweet Wine

If you've decided to try a sweet wine, it's important to serve it properly. Dessert wines should be served chilled, while sparkling and aromatized wines should be served at room temperature. The right temperature for a sweet wine varies depending on the type of wine, so be sure to read the labels before serving. Dessert wines should be served in wider dessert glasses, while sparkling and aromatized wines should be served in wine glasses.

How to Pair a Sweet Wine

One of the advantages of sweet wines is that they can be paired with many different dishes. Dessert wines pair well with desserts, cheeses, and meats. Sparkling wines can be paired with all types of dishes, from savory to sweet. Aromatized wines are particularly versatile and can be paired with fish, meat, and vegetable dishes.

Conclusion

Sweet wines are a fun and relaxing way to enjoy a meal or an evening. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, there's a sweet wine to suit your needs. Remember to choose the right wine for your meal, serve it at the right temperature, and pair it properly. If you follow these steps, you're sure to enjoy the delights of sweet wines.
