Red wine doesn't go in the fridge? Here's why!

Red wine, like white wine, should not be refrigerated. This is because the cold affects the organoleptic characteristics of the drink and diminishes the pleasure of tasting it. In addition, if stored below 10°C, deposits can form on the bottom of the bottle that compromise the quality of the wine.
Red wine, as we have said, is served at room temperature. But what temperature is considered room temperature? The answer is cellar temperature! In fact, red wines have always been stored and served at temperatures of around 16-18°C. This means that if we want to enjoy a good glass of red in the middle of summer, we should keep it out of the fridge for a few hours before serving it, so that it warms up to the right temperature. If, on the other hand, we were to put it in the fridge immediately, we would have to take it out well in advance of the moment of tasting, to avoid it being too cold.
In short, if you want to enjoy a good red wine in the middle of summer, keep it out of the fridge for a few hours before serving it! And if the room temperature is really too high, you can always put it in a bucket with ice: the important thing is not to forget it inside, otherwise the wine will get too warm and lose its organoleptic characteristics.
And you, how do you store your red wine in summer?
