Aprutino Pescarese olive oil is obtained from olives of the Dritta, Leccino and Toccolana varieties, and the drupes are hand-picked directly on the plant between 20 October and 10 December (according to the disciplinary). This oil is NUTRACEUTICAL because it is naturally SOURCE of VITAMIN E and rich in POLYPHENOLS including HYDROXYTROSOL and its derivatives.
The Aprutino-Pescarese PDO is the first protected designation of origin on oil to be recognized in Europe through EC Regulation No. 1263 of 1996 (GUCE L163 / 96 of 2 July 1996); it is produced in the Vestina area of the province of Pescara and includes 34 municipalities including Loreto Aprutino, where the farm is located. The production disciplinary of Aprutino Pescarese contains the rules to which APRUTINUM must comply in order for its oil to be included in the PDO and thus be able to affix the PROTECTED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN mark on the label. SENSORY ASPECTS CATEGORY: medium fruity Clear herbaceous notes tending to floral with an almond aftertaste. The taste emerges of almond and thistle.
