The Montepulciano variety grown in Abruzzo is, in our opinion, of clear Greek / Balkan origin due to its overall morphological characteristics. We therefore believe that it spread in remote times, perhaps pre-Roman, having found its cradle in the Peligna Valley, between the towns of Raiano and Sulmona, which history wants to have been colonized by the Peligni perhaps coming from Asia Minor or from ' Illyria, around the 12th century BC
Intense, dense red color. The nose offers a taste of wild berries and ripe red berries, and with a sweet spicy cola tail. On the palate it is elegant, velvety almost creamy, intact, with the tannic structure well blended with the alcoholic component. Full-bodied and with an excellent balance between alcoholic strength, freshness and tannin. Persuasive, in the memories of red berry fruit, and notes of cinchona and rhubarb that lead to the very long sweet finish. 15.5% alcohol 1500 ml bottle.
