The Negus red wine from the Cascina del Colle winery is a wine that arouses impressions, evokes memories and pleasant sensations of harmony and peace. The name Negus recalls the sovereign figure of the family grandparents. Grandparents who still today tell the story of the African war, the 2nd World War and who transmit fears, emotions and culture to their grandchildren. Austere, confident and profound; a wine without uncertainties with an impenetrable color, a strong flavor and penetrating aromas. Made with DOC certified Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes. The addition of other blends is not foreseen. The breeding system is the marquee one. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 280 and 300 meters above sea level. They extend over an area of over 3.5 hectares and have an optimal exposure, towards the South East. This allows an excellent yield during the harvest that reaches up to 100 quintals per hectare of land. The vinification process involves a first alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature and then a subsequent refinement in Barrique barrels for 18 months.
