A vine originally from Carinthia, cultivated since the 11th century, in Trentino it has found particular diffusion in the suitable areas of Vallagarina. Celebrated in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" for its excellent qualities, it is a particularly pleasant wine for its "fruitfulness" and elegance. Classic "red" vinification with maceration and fermentation on the skins at a controlled temperature (24-26°C).
Rotari Flavio was born in memory of the Lombard king Rotari , who historically assumed the honorary title of "Flavio" to recall the Roman and Byzantine imperial prestige. At the foot of the Dolomites, where Chardonnay best expresses its fresh and fruity character, Rotari Flavio is a particular Riserva produced in purity from hand-picked and selected grapes from hilly areas above 350 m. north of Trento. Produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes with maturation on the lees for at least 60 months.
