Monfferrato Rso Piedmont Merlot Production area: Annunziata hamlet, Castagnole Lanze (Asti) Italy Appellation: PIEMONTE DOC MERLOT Grapes: 100% Merlot Designation of origin Vinification: the grapes are harvested manually in the vineyard and stored carefully in boxes for transport to the cellar, pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature with a maceration of about 8-10 days. At the racking the wine comes placed in barriques where it rested for 24 months. The wine obtained in this way it was further refined for about 6 months in steel tanks and then, finally, being bottled; the bottles, after a rest of about 6 months in a cellar temperature of 18° C to complete the refinement ready for commercialization. Sensory Profile: Color: almost compact intense ruby red impenetrable. Bouquet: large and complex with hints of wild berries and jam, licorice and leather on balsamic notes with menthol nuances and faint hints vegetable (pepper). Taste: dry, persistent, powerful with tannic notes warm and round that combined with its sapidity they give a long and soft finish. Food pairings: Important wine indicated for main courses of red meat or game. Excellent companion for an after dinner with friends. Yield: 50 quintals/Ha Alcohol content: 14.50% Harvest: end of September Serving temperature: 18°C.
