The name Madrechiesa is made up of a phonetic combination that encompasses much of the Italian culture and tradition. It evokes sacredness and family, austerity and authority, love and dedication. It comes from the name of a place where the homonymous vineyard is located, from which the oenological project started: focusing on Sangiovese, isolating the best grapes, coming from a particularly suitable land. Thus was born a new wine, a great Sangiovese in purity, destined since the first vintage in production (2009) to change the history of its area to which it belongs. Madrechiesa Is A Wine That Has Many Agreeed And Changed Many's Minds. To Those Who Thought That Great Wines Couldn't Be Made From This Territory, Or That These Would Always Have A Sin Of Elegance. Madrechiesa Constitutes The Synthesis Of The Answer To These Questions, As With Its Balance Played On Refined, Vibrant And Persuasive Strings, It Has Known How To Rewrite The Sangiovese References Of Southern Tuscany, Bringing Maremma Back Under The Spotlight Of Critics And The Market. "Terenzi Is One Of The Most Promising New Name In Tuscan Winemaking" Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate Madrechiesa Offers A Unique Interpretation Of Sangiovese, Combining Sobriety, Authenticity, Elegance, Complexity And Character. It Is The Wine That Perfectly Embodies The Valori Of The Cellar Led By The Terenzi Brothers. A dynamic reality, which quickly achieved many stages, quickly gaining acclaim in Italy and abroad, while keeping the desire to experiment intact, to bring each label to its maximum qualitative and territorial expression. The Company Managed By The Three Young Brothers Federico, Balbino And Francesca Romana, Today Has 150 Hectares Of Property Of Which 60 Are Vineyards And 14 Of Splendid Secular Olive Trees. A 3,000 m2 cellar, the beating heart of the company, built in harmony with the landscape, without renouncing the most modern technologies aimed at the most absolute quality and respect for the environment. “We feel more guardians than owners of these vineyards and our task is only to take care of their fruit to the best. Once this task has been completed, the path is simple and it is the one that we have always followed in the production of our wines: working the raw material as little as possible, carefully accompanying the must first and then the wine along their journey, waiting patiently Every year that the journey comes to an end and thus a new Motherchurch year is born". Sangiovese is the undisputed king of the indigenous red grape varieties of Tuscany. A single vine capable of giving wines with a very different character. Sangiovese has great plasticity and adaptability, depending on the cultivation areas. It Is One Of The Great Italian Vines, Capable Of Transmitting Multiple Emotions After Long Refinements. The varietal aromas of Sangiovese are mainly oriented towards red and black fruits, among which black cherries, blackberries and plums stand out, while among the floral aromas, violet is the most characteristic, followed by the olfactory recall of the rose. The origin and provenance of Sangiovese are very difficult to identify, but it is believed that this grape was already Nota more than 2000 years ago and that it was used by the Etruscans for the production of wine. Just Scansano, a village in the Tuscan Maremma where the Terenzi company is located, is one of the places where the greatest evidence of the ancient Etruscan civilization is concentrated. The Vineyards In The Magical And Wild Heart Of Tuscany, In Maremma Grossetana, Nature Is Generous Of Vineyards And Olive Groves; A territory that lets itself be crossed by the roots of Sangiovese. The grapes destined to become Mother Church are produced with respect for the environment, thanks to reasoned viticulture where man intervenes only when necessary. The vineyards are planted in soils rich in potassium and magnesium. They are deep soils, with coarse sands and clays and with a good presence of skeleton that allows excess water to drain, but at the same time maintain a good water reserve.
