Born in 1989, it takes its name from the small Sossò stream that rises at the foot of the hill from which the grapes come. The result of a careful selection of Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso with a small contribution of Pignolo, it is the result of meticulous vinification of grapes produced from old Rosazzo vineyards. A wine of great complexity and structure, it is characterized by elegant, ripe, fruity and sweet tannins.
Mainly trained in Guyot, the vines benefit from soils composed of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin. The 2016 harvest took place during the second half of September and the first days of October. The healthy and perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand, in small boxes, to preserve the integrity of the berry. Delicately destemmed, it is then subjected to pressing. Fermentation follows with maceration of the skins at a controlled temperature, in truncated conical vats. Maturation takes place in small French oak barrels. Once bottled, the wine then rests in temperature-controlled rooms for refinement.
