It is a day of celebration in the village. People laugh, the wine flows, the orchestra plays, and the streets echo from the children's zurle. La Zurle? In the Abruzzese dialect the term indicates the noisy fun, the liveliness, the dynamism typical of children. A joy that comes above all from music, because zurla is the name of a gypsy musical instrument, progenitor of the oboe and shawm. Zurle therefore expresses energy, genuine cheerfulness, a sunny, open and sincere character. This is the character of this Rosso dAbruzzo, which we see well accompany, in the village festival just described, the roasted meats outdoors, under a pergola overlooking the hills. Straightforward wine, but anything but banal. Produced with selected grapes, ennobled by ample and intense aromas of fruit with subtle spicy notes, rich, energetic and with excellent structure, it receives its character as a gift from a land that has always been suited to the cultivation of vines: the Frentane hills, between the Maiella and the sea, a true temple of Abruzzo viticulture.
