The Contado is obtained from the vinification in purity of Aglianico grapes grown on the hills of Molise in the Camarda vineyard. Vinified in small steel fermenters with long maceration. The wine is aged for about three years, one of which in barriques and tonneaux.
The red wine Contado Molise Aglianico Riserva DOC of the Di Majo Norante winery is obtained using only the best quality Aglianico grapes. In the heart of Molise, precisely on the hills surrounding the town of Ramitello, there are vineyards that enjoy a good climate and a soil structure based on limestone and clay. This winery, which boasts an ancient tradition, produces wines of exceptional quality, perfectly blending artisan traditions and technological innovation. To produce the Contado Molise Aglianico Riserva DOC wine, the grapes are harvested between the end of October and the beginning of November. After a soft pressing, the fermentation takes place for a short period in stainless steel tanks. We then move on to the maturation which takes place partly in barriques and partly in steel before refining in the bottle. The result is a wine of excellent structure, harmonious, of excellent drinkability, its proverbial tannins are smoothed with aging and therefore with the years. Excellent in combination with important meat dishes.
