The Riserva version of our Montefalco Rosso, vinified only in the best years with a long aging in large barrels. A blend based only on Sangiovese and the typical grape of Montefalco. In previous years, other red grape varieties were also used.
Harvest Begins with Sangiovese at the end of September and continues with the other varieties. Manual harvest. Vinification Filling of the maceration tanks by gravity. Fermentation on the skins with maceration of about 3-4 weeks. Aging Assembly and maturation for at least 18 months in mainly large oak barrels and then in concrete tanks. Refinement in bottle for at least 6 months. Tasting Deep ruby red color. Very intense and complex olfactory impact with fruity, floral and spicy scents. The taste is structured and elegant, with a remarkable taste-olfactory persistence. Pairings Tasty first courses; grilled meats, roasts; hard aged cheeses.
