Cortona Syrah Achelo La Braccesca dei Marchesi Antinori was born in the homonymous estate, located on the Sienese hills. It is produced exclusively with Syrah grapes, harvested in mid-September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days. Subsequently the wine partially ages in barriques and steel tanks for about 7 months, before being bottled.

A great Supertucsan, a Bordeaux blend, certainly one of the most important wines produced by the Castello di Querceto company, Il Cignale stands out for its characteristic and original organoleptic profile at the same time; it is certainly the best known of the François family business, produced for the first time with the 1986 vintage. It comes from a 4-hectare vineyard planted in 1981 at an altitude between 490 and 520 meters, with a density of five thousand vines per hectare and after a maturation of about 2 years in French oak barriques, plus a further refinement of over 6 months. The base is Cabernet Sauvignon (80-90%) accompanied by Merlot. Cignale (Tuscan dialect expression to indicate the wild boar, an animal depicted in several versions on the labels), like all the wines of Castello di Querceto , has the characteristic of longevity. In the family cellar, among the shelves rest dusty bottles of Chianti Classico from 1909, 1911, 1916, and among these, five examples of the historic 1904 vintage are still on display. Wines over 20 years old, incredibly rich in color and with perfumes and aromas still young, well balanced between the fruit and the never invasive wood. Another characteristic of Cignale is that beyond the origin of the blend, what "brands" the wine is above all the territory. In a "blind" tasting with other wines, even those based on Sangiovese, it is not uncommon (especially with older vintages) to have doubts whether it is a product originating from local grapes, such as Sangiovese, or international ones, as in this case Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The Chianti Classico of Castellare di Castellina is born in vineyards located in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti. It is produced with 95% Sangiovese grapes and 5% Canaiolo grapes, harvested in October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 15-20 days. Subsequently the wine is aged in barrique for 7 months, and for a further 7 months in the bottle. This Chianti Classico is characterized by a brilliant ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose opens with hints of cherries and violets, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of licorice and vanilla. On the palate it is balanced, with harmonious and delicate tannins. This Riserva was revived from the 2010 vintage almost 20 years after its last edition in 1992. We took that break because over the past 26 years we have progressively reselected and replanted our historic vineyards; we had concentrated on clonal selections, on the different expressiveness of Sangiovese in relation to soil and climatic variations and on the possibility of combining the characteristics of Sangiovese with other international vines. In 2010, however, we found an increased complexity and structure in the grapes from the first replantings of native vines, which convinced us to re-propose the Riserva di Vino Nobile only from native grapes, just like in the 70s and 80s.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Pianrosso di Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is produced only in the best years and exclusively with grapes from the Pianrosso vineyards. It is the wine that has always authoritatively represented the terroir and the name of the company. The grapes to be used for the Riserva type are also selected from these vineyards.
