Ansonica Elba Doc 2021 – Tenuta La Chiusa The estate overlooks the Gulf of Portoferraio and owes its name to the wall that surrounds it and encloses the 20 hectares of property, most of which are planted with vineyards and olive trees. The main activity is the production and sale of traditional Elba wines (white, red, rosé, aleatico) and extra virgin olive oil. The origins date back to the end of the 1500s, with the birth of the cellars and the ancient village. The wall and the patronal villa date back to the early 1800s. La Chiusa has also hosted Napoleon Bonaparte on two occasions: the first time immediately after his arrival on the island while he was at anchor waiting to be received with due honors in Portoferraio and subsequently after a hunting trip on Mount Fabbrello. The nose releases the typical hints of yellow flowers, notes of honey, tropical fruit and white peach. On the palate, sapidity is its prevailing note accompanied by good persistence. It is perfect in combination with shellfish and stewed fish such as the typical "sburrita di cod". Also excellent with white meats and feathered game.
