Lago di Venere was born in 2001 from zibibbo grapes from Pantelleria. The project, strongly desired by Meregalli Giuseppe S.r.l., is overseen by Lorenzo Peira, a well-known oenologist already known for other passito wines produced in the South. The grapes are harvested after drying on the vine and are then taken to the cellars in Sicily to begin processing. The winemaker was asked for a wine that had both the great structure of a passito and the freshness of a sauternes, and we can safely say that the result did not fall short of expectations.
