Domaine La Barroche
Rhone Valley - France
A small winery that only started bottling in 2004, but with a history of over 500 years in the wine production of this historic Rhone Valley AOC, always in the hands of the same family. The winery's reputation has been built up in just a few years, and it is now recognised by the international press and critics as one of Chateauneuf's absolute excellences. 11 hectares planted with vines, all bush-trained, most of them over a hundred years old on sandy and gravelly soils, buffeted by the region's infamous and very strong Mistral Wind. Wines of great elegance, structure and minerality, with formidable ageing capacity. Production is carried out according to the most traditional methods, applying maniacal attention both in the vineyard (selecting the grapes on tape already in the vineyard) and in the cellar (vinifying each vine in separate barrels and blending only after lengthy refinement and study). Organic viticulture, mass selection and topping up the barrels following evaporation, according to the traditional recipe. The power of La Barroche products is a beacon of elegance for the production of this special appellation.
