Since its foundation in 1972, the cooperative winery of the Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano has been a point of reference in the Maremma.

The cooperative winery of the Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano was founded in 1972, when a small group of Scansano producers decided to join forces to produce wine together. The group grew rapidly and in the 1980s an important decision was made: while other cooperatives decided to focus on quantity, we chose the more difficult road, that of quality. This required huge investments from our members and considerable efforts in the vineyard. Not everyone chose to stay, but those who did were particularly motivated.

Several decades later, their sacrifices paid off, year after year. Guided by the presidency of Benedetto Grechi, who has ensured continuity in the winery's mission for 30 years, we can now count on around 700 hectares of vineyards, mainly in the area around Scansano, Magliano in Toscana and Pitigliano, with a total of around 170 members, and production is always focused on the quality of the wine. Over the years we have strengthened our position on the Tuscan market, first of all, and on a national scale, particularly with regard to large-scale distribution. Today, our goal is to continue to focus on quality and, consistent with this, to develop our presence in the Horeca channel, both in Italy and abroad. In this way, the contribution of our Director Sergio Bucci from 2010 onwards is essential to create new market opportunities and to help all our members spread the magical essence of Morellino di Scansano and its entire territory throughout the world.
